A haunting and surreal interpretation of the omnipresent gaze, Dr. Eckleburg draws direct influence from the symbolic billboard in The Great Gatsby, reimagined through a lens of cosmic intensity and emotional vulnerability. A lone, silhouetted figure stands beneath a blinding explosion of color and light, facing two enormous, hyper-detailed eyes that seem to emerge from another dimension. The eyes are galaxies of their own—multifaceted, vibrant, and fractured—evoking themes of judgment, surveillance, and divine watchfulness. Vibrant explosions of reds, neons, and pastels form an emotional atmosphere that feels both divine and chaotic. The ground beneath the figure is reflective and shadowed, suggesting an internal confrontation or an awakening of cosmic awareness. This piece speaks to the existential question of who is watching, and why. It is a visual embodiment of being perceived in a world too large and strange to comprehend.
